These literally take 2 minutes to make and are so handy for grabbing on the go or when you want something to keep your sweet tooth at bay. Shop bought protein balls are always so expensive but they are so easy to make yourself so why not save yourself the money and have some fun experimenting with flavours yourself!
These are a very basic protein ball but you could add nuts, golgi berries, shredded coconut, chia seeds, chocolate chips. You could also roll the balls in coconut or drizzle or coat them in some melted chocolate!
(Makes 4-5 large balls)
40g Oats (use gluten free if required)
40g of Honey (or agave for vegan)
40g Nut Butter (I used peanut butter for this recipe)
25g Chocolate Protein Powder (I used Tropeaka Chocolate Vegan Lean Protein)*
Splash of Almond Milk (or water)
* Note: You could use a different flavour protein powder to change the flavour of the protein balls.
You can get creative with the recipe and add things such as golgi berries, nuts, coconut, dried fruit, chocolate chips or coat them in shredded coconut, drizzle or coat them in melted chocolate.
1) Add the oats, honey, nut butter and protein powder to a blender.
2) Blend until the mix sticks together. (Add a dash of almond milk or water if the mix is too dry. Add in small quantities to ensure the mixture doesn’t get to wet).
3) Once the mix sticks together pour out of the blender. Using your hands roll the mixture into balls of desired size.
Store in an airtight container or serve and enjoy!
